Harold W. Clark, T-Sgt., 1ccs, 3rd ccg -- CBI & Combat Cargo Groups

Subject: Harold W. Clark, T-Sgt., 1ccs, 3rd ccg

My Uncle Harold W. Clark was a T-Sgt. crew chief for the 1st combat cargo squadron, 3rd combat cargo group. He had a good friend named "Denny" in his squadron that was a radio operater. There was a plane crash and my Uncle saved all the men in the plane and went back for Denny, at which time the plan exploded, causing severe injuries & burns. Fortunately Denny made it out a window on the other side of the plane. Does anyone remember this event? Can you tell me more about my Uncle? he died at age 54 and I never got to talk to him about these stories, I was too young. I would like to preserve his memory and if anyone can help, have pictures I would greatly appreciate it.
He also recieved an air medal for flying 25 missions over enemy territory, but we are unable to locate his medal.
