Erm, sorry to pop in on this delightful, confusing and somewhat humourous conversation... but would someone mind dressing up as an elf at my funeral? Or dress up as anything really a chicken, sponge bob, Wonder Woman also good... Nixon, a jelly fish whatever... oh and please tell some jokes. if they are of the knock knock variety please feel free to use the lid of my coffin as an appropriate sound effect device.If my funeral is serious then I will presume complete strangers have put it on for me and will then insist on becoming a poltergeist in the style of Peeves and begin throwing floral arrangements around the place whilst singing improvised shanties about my more lewd exploits in life.

As for what one wears at a ritual I rather think it's quite absurd for any pagan to be giving fashion advice to another pagan have you ever stopped to look at what we all wear!.... we aren't renowned for our fashion sense... hell without pagans panne velvet would have died out with the 90's.
