Subject: MEMORIAL DAY

Today is the day we honor those who have served and those who are serving. I am proud to say I am one.

Yes, I agree and appreciate all the men who serve. Were you overseas?

Yes; I spent 11 months and 11 days in South Vietnam.I could see that at one time it was a very pretty country.

11 months and 11 days seems a long time to be in
Vietnam. Glad you made it back. What service were (are) you in? Two of my brothers were in Korea, one a Marine and the other in field artillery.

I was in the Army. I was with the 25th Infantry Div. 125th Signal Bat. I worked out of a base camp at Cu Chi. Uncle Sam drafted a phoneman and made me a phoneman. How in the H--- did that happen.

I don't know. But still an important job.

I have a friend who goes back to Nam every two or three years on Hospital Mission work. He says it is now a beautiful country again.....and while the communist who rule the country sometimes make it rough on them, the people who receive medical services are every so greacious and appreciative.

Sarah, was your friend in Vietnam during the war? Was he medical personel?

I should think it and Korea are beautiful countries. A grandson has been to Laos and said it was.
