Had great time in England with my daughter and family.

Made it to Normandy - Omaha and Utah beaches. Saw Sainte Mere Eglise where John Steele hung from the church steeple, Angoville-au-Plain (where two medics treated some 80 soldiers, both U.S. and German, in a church), German bunkers, Waco glider, Colleville U.S. Cemetary (Teddy Roosevelt Jr. and his brother Quentin are buried side-by-side [Quentin is the only non D-D invasion soldier buried there]), Pointe du Hoc (where the U.S. Rangers had to climb up that vertical cliff), a German cemetary, and the hedgerows, among a lot of other places.

We walked on top of Pointe du Hoc and viewed all the craters and went into a bunker or two. A beautiful view from there.

Looked at the hedgerows, very interesting and impressive - no wonder the soldiers were stopped.

The Colleville U.S. Cemetary was beautiful, and sad. It was very quiet, hardly anyone talking.

If I get back to England, I again will take this tour.

The Normandy visit sounds great. I wish we could have gone over to Normandy when we were at Harlaxton. The War Cemetery at Madingley England was a touching sight to see also. So many young men were buried there after D-Day and the awful fact is that there are more unknowns buried there than those that were known. We got to participate in lowering the flag while taps was being played.
