All the stuff mentioned in that statement are already a problem for jiwaka caused by jiwakans themselves as well. Not just the settlers are trouble makers. In most cases, jiwakans themselves cause these problems for the settlers by causing crimes against their women, or disrupting their businesses by break and enter all because they think that they are the "mal dam" and these settlers can't do anything about it. While I may not totally agree with the view that ALL social immoralities and problems emerged out from settlements,neighter do I professed that settlements are clean.We may have witnessed or may have heard that criminal elements use settlements as their hideouts or breeding grounds but there are also criminals amongst the community.We may point fingers at the settlements that they live a promiscous live which could likely lead to contraction of sexual transmitted diseases including HIV/AIDS.But promiscouity has been around PNG including Jiwaka and no one could deny that. While we try to make a spectre of this issue as the social enigma of what we are facing now,the relatively high number of AIDS related deads in Jiwaka,the widespread abuse of drugs,homebrews or steam,land scarsity,increase in domestic violence,growing unemplyment of drop-outs to name a few,should not be a shadow of the real issue. The truth is and I know it won't go down well for some of you,is that The Jiwakans are the problems themselves. It won't take a rocket scientist to research and proof that>We all know! As educated elites we should sound as part of the solution.Put up constructive ideas here on this forum that can be seen as part of the solution instead of making very shallow remarks that does not lead no way.
