The Eagles proved strong this time beating Hawks 6 to 4. They won at a conversion difference. Nelson Kopunye missed the conversion from Peter Awa’s try.

Sorry, I missed James Ngune. He was also under injury from NUS games at Madang but took the field yesterday. He made some damaging tackles, runs and firing hit-ups.

After the game Andrew Kina handed the jersey set to Nelson Kopunye, the president of Jiwaka SA, to keep for next year’s season.

The game was captained by Sam Kupul. Despite the loss, they dedicated the game to him, as this was his last game with the club as a final year. Sam played in the senior division since his first year in 2000. Adam Topo, Erick Paksy and Siwi Aipe join Sam as they may not take the field next season.

From Andrew Kina, there will be a Jiwaka School Boys Rugby league coming up at either Minj or Banz from 20th –25 December 2003. It will be sponsored by one of our MPS. He has informed DWU and UNITECH during the NUS game at Madang. Datailed updates of this will be posted on UPNG and UNITECH BOARDS as well. Please do check up!

Sad to hear that Hawks been clawed by the Eagles but at least you guys have gotten into finals. Just lost in the grandfinal to Charters Towers 3 wks ago and couldn't contemplate. But there is always next year.

Congrats boys.Job well done!

To my brothers and the name Whagi Hawks...
Whaoo!! What can I say, enem kawei erjip pa nind eh! Well, I may not know all of you but in the name of WAGHI HAWKS, I say congratz to you all despite your unsuccessful bid in the semis. But hey, what the heck... like the rest of the well wishers and supporters here said, there is always next year....
Like this little saying ....
Courage doesnt always roar.
Sometimes courage is the little voice
at the end of the day that says,
"I'll try again tomorrow"

And so as my man 2PAC rhymes....
KEEP YOUR HEAD UP, NEVER GIVE UP!

And to all the departing "dapanges" at UPNG, I wish you all a very prosperous future in what you decided to do after UPNG.
And thanks to my brother and the Hawks PR Officer for keeping us in tune. We will miss you too... but I will see you at home when I get up there, aiight? :-)

Kawei...
Angzep ende ... mand ya mene kupo ol kuru duma mol ne mei wa! :-)
