Subject: alternative exercises on machines

I've been reading your posts here and thought I'd ask my question here.
I've been going to Curves since March and I love it. They recently opened a Curves in my town which I love since I was traveling 30 minutes one way and the working our for my 30 minutes. It took an hour and a half out of my day to exercise at Curves. I can now travel a minute or 2 and be there.
While at the orginial Curves I had learned the alternative exercises on the machines. I feel they work on different muscles and want to do them at the new curves I'm going to now. I was informed that they will not be teaching these new moves at this Curves because the owner feels they don't work any other muscles. I was told that I could do the moves, but if anyone else wanted to learn them that they would be told they wouldn't be taught them. They are on the training video after all. I decided that I would not do the moves even though I'm paying to go there and should be allowed to do them if I wished. The new members were trying them and doing them wrong after I did them. Anyway today another lady was doing the moves, which she said she had learned at another Curves, and the manager told her we would not be doing those moves there. Am I wrong in thinking that they should at least offer them and leave it up to the member to decide if they work other muscles and want to do them. I almost wish I hadn't gone to the 1st Curves. This one does things so different and not in a good way. Don't even get me started on that! I know it's like comparing your children and they are all different.
