Here's a tip I use all the time. BEFORE you start eating your meal, figure out how much you want to eat. Take the rest and put it either to the side or on another small plate. Then take the salt shaker, unscrew the cap and dump salt on the portion you don't want to eat. You can also use pepper, hot sauce or anything else to make it inedible. I know this sounds weird but I like playing with my food, so it works for me!!
