I've lost 50 lbs and between 3 and 4 sizes. In July I was wearing some 28's and some 30-32's. Now I'm in a 20 sometimes, but mostly 22 and 2x. I would say I had to lose between 15-20 to REALLY lose a whole size. And to be honest, I'm still wearing some of my larger sizes, but they're just huge on me. Since I still have 70 lbs to lose, I'm mostly buying pants that I know won't look terrible as I shrink. Some of my pants that were not stretchy and fitted are NOT possible to wear now whereas some of my spandex-type pants are fine. I have to dress professional/casual so they can't be traditional cotton stretch pants, but the cotton/lycra blends they have out are good. I can also buy a size too small in those stretch fabrics and wear a long shirt until the waist fits looser.
