Actually, I don't think it has anything to do with membership pricing. The new travel passes that your club SHOULD be using have the statement that some clubs might charge $5 during PEAK hours. If a club is taking advantage and charging the fee at all times, something does need to be done, but in the eyes of the owners, the members who pay them directly should have preference so if you are a traveler and go in at 5pm on a monday and there is a line waiting to get on the circuit, unfortunately, you are not #1 priority.

I was really shocked to read the new travel pass and would have thought that a change in contract would have to occur in order for such a change to happen, but I guess not. Maybe if you travel, call the club ahead and time and see about the fee and if they have certain hours that are better than others. The club I visited this weekend didn't even look at my travel pass or make me fill out a health form...others are a lot more strict.
