I, too, was surprised when I went to HH and had to pay $5. I had gone there previously with no charge. I decided to rent a bike with the money I would spend for a week at Curves, although I hated to miss a whole week of workouts. When I joined over a year ago, one of the deciding factors was being able to work out anywhere in the U.S. when traveling. I live in a "resort" town and our Curves charges $10/week for visitors.
