There is a medical clause in your contract that allows you, with a note from the doc, to "suspend" your membership. I think it's only a month, but it could be different at other clubs, at my club it's a month. That way, you at least save a little money and owners might be different all over, some might allow longer than one month, others might stick to it despite the circumstances. Obviously if someone had a much minor injury and was going to be better in a month's time, a month would be sufficient, but most injuries require more time to heal. Talk with your owner or manager and find out exactly what their policy is. Depending on how long you've been a member, you might still qualify to cancel it, which would be difficult for me as I would have little desire to go back in after I was better, but that would cost you money whereas the suspension is free.

Might it be possible that if they only offered a month suspend, that you would be able to go in and do the arm machines while the leg is still on the mend, but a little better? We had a gal break her ankle and she came in and did arms a few week later, just to keep in her routine.

I know it can be VERY difficult to move with any leg injury and I can only imagine the difficulty of a knee injury. I wish you a speedy recovery and be sure to let us know what happens and when you might be able to start back again.

I'm sure the gals at Curves will miss you ;)
