welcome :)

Glad you are enjoying Curves. isn't it amazing that so many women can actually enjoy exercise after decades of having it be a chore or fashion show?? I love it too :)

As for weighing in, first of all, they shouldn't be weighing AFTER their workout at all. Your body sheds weight during the workout, mostly fluid weight and so you will almost always be lighter after your workout. Be sure they are all doing their weigh & measures before their workout too...that way, no enlarged muscles throw off the inches lost ;)

But honestly, I weigh before every workout at Curves. And I also weigh in at home every morning, before I hop in the shower. it's a habit I've gotten into and it has helped me to get to know the natural fluctuations of my body's weight. I'm also doing the Curves low-carb diet, where it is recommended that you weigh more often (daily) to make sure you're still losing, as, if you stop losing for more than a week or two, you're supposed to move on to phase 3 to rev up your metabolism.

There's no right answer for everyone. If someone is trying to lose 10 pounds, they might not see much difference on the scale from one monday to the next, but if you've got well over 100 pounds to lose and you're doing a low-carb diet, you'll probably see the needle move a little faster, so the progress would be motivating :) I know it is for me. Knowing how great I feel on the diet PLUS seeing the scale go down, yeah, that's what keeps me going. It just seems TOO easy sometimes :)

If you've got a bit of weight to lose, check out the Curves diet if you don't already have something going or picked out. BUT, wait until you're into the swing of things with the workout first. It's better to add one thing at a time and let it become a habit before you start adding 10 things and then you set yourself up for failure at at least a few of those things. See how the workout effects your body before you add eating habit changes...then see how those changes change your body ;)

Glad you're enjoying the board :) it's a great place!
