What other kinds of exercise were you doing when you lose 10 pounds in the first month? Remember that you are doing a strength training (read: muscle building) program and so you WILL build muscle, which could make it so you don't lose as much mass as you wish, but you will get smaller all the while. More lean muscle mass means you will burn more calories while sitting on the couch watching TV, exercising, sleeping...you get the idea. So don't get discouraged because you "only" lost 5 pounds in your first month. I gained 2 pounds but I lost 8 inches in my first month so I KNEW the program was working. The weight would come when I started the low-carb diet, but I wasn't ready for that when I started working out. And It's always a good idea to start one thing at a time...give it a few months and then add on, such as start working out at Curves and then a few months later, add the diet changes (I always tell people we are ALL on diets, I mean, we all eat don't we? that's the true definition of diet ;)

Your first month results are AWESOME...and don't let your mind tell you any different. Sounds like you've built up some great muscle AND lost some fat. that's what you should be doing is looking at the amount of fat lost, not the weight first...so how much FAT did you lose in your first month? If you don't have a printout, multiply your beginning weight by the beginning body fat % and do the same with your first month results then subtract the first month results from your original. My first month, I lost a pound in body fat but I still gained 2 pounds of mass...GO FIGURE! LOL :)
