Subject: Calories Burned in a Session??

I have been a member of Curves for 5 months. I do love going very much, but did not lose too much in the first 3 months. Now I have incorporated a diet plan based on a sensible calories in/calories out plan. Since I've been on the diet and in doing Curves I've lost 9.5 lbs. in the last couple of months.

Initially when I questioned the owner of my Curves to see how many calories I was burning during the workout she told me I was burning somewhere between 550 to 600 calories. I questioned that I could burn so many calories in such a short period of time even though I work the circuit pretty hard, so I factored in my diet program that I was burning 450 calories to minimize the amount she told me.

Now I have had other people questioning whether I'm even burning the 450 calories in 30 minutes and truthfully when I look at the calories burned for other activities I question the same thing. I really need to know an accurate count of calories being burned doing the circuit because I tend to lose exceptionally slow and need to be able to factor in the right amount so I don't eat too many calories. Can someone tell me this and possibly how they arrived at it?

I spoke with two friends of mine who go to the gym often and who are familiar with the machines. They both said they didn't think I was burning more than 250-300 calories and that is what I've revised my diet to.

Somebody help me!

Thanks, Laura
