Hi Shelly - I just joined Curves myself about two weeks ago so I'm new to this too. I was told 2 times around plus the stretching at the end (this equals about half hour which is the time they say it takes to work out) so I guess this is right. The instructors did say that it doesn't hurt to take an extra turn on a particular machine but not to push it and that it wasn't necessary. So right now that is what I'm sticking too - maybe when I lose enough and get better I'll go for a third time around when time allows.

Also the instructors at my Curves are very helpful. Usually someone is always walking around so they are available to answer any questions and will point out if a machine is not being used properly.

If you don't feel comfortable using a particular machine I would make a point of asking an instructor to demonstrate its use again - better to do it right than waste your time doing it wrong.
Good Luck and will be talking to you soon!
