I had the exact same problem. So I purchased the monitor that you are talking about at Walmart. I find it is extremely useful, as my heart rate jumps to high levels, and looking at the watch before each machine helps me to either stay on the recovery station, take a 10 second break (which was recommended to me by Curves Staff) or just slow it down.
