My first workout was Saturday, May 17. After that I went and bought the CURVES book, and Sunday (the 18th) I started the carb sensitive plan. At first, it was hard. I've been on tons of diets and this new diet was telling me to eat things that I would not be allowed to have in previous diets. So, it was HARD to adapt to. After a day or so, I realized the key to making it through the first two weeks, for me, would be to let myself have something that I previously knew as BAD, when I wanted to eat. So, I had a burger with cheese wrapped in lettuce instead of a bun or I had chicken salad (yeah MAYO!!) or I had a sausage, egg and cheese McMuffin (without the english muffin). Hey, as long as my emotions think I'm getting away with something naughty, I'm satiated, right?

After about 4 days, my cravings for food were gone. I found myself trying to get more calories into the day, and having to eat something, because I should, not because I wanted to. (I can't take a multi-vitamin without eating something, it makes me sick.) This was a completely new experience for me. I'm use to wanting to eat all day long, and I can only believe now that it's because I kept refueling with carbs and they make me want more.

So, I am looking forward to the end of my second week, where I can go up to 40-60 carbs. But for now, I am very happy with the results I've been getting. Of course, no official measurements yet. But on the 17th I was 198lbs on an empty stomach. Yesterday (the 26th), I was 190lbs. I know the weight loss will not keep up at this pace, but it's a great boost to my confidence!!

Also - for your workouts, make sure you are working yourself hard enough. You should be able to talk but not able to sing. When I catch myself singing along to the tapes at Curves, I say, time to push harder.
