Subject: About your Results - the Numbers - What's Important?
In reply to: Laura 's message, "Re: One MOnth and no real results" on 07:59:02 05/29/03 Thu

Hello everyone,

I think we're all guilty at times of looking for immediate results say like within a month or something like that. Many folks set expectations that are not realistic. You should only lose 1-2 pounds per week.

How about those numbers? Pounds! Body Fat! Inches! Of the three body fat tells you most and then probably inches. Keep in mind that the body fat analyzer is not a scientific meausurement. It can be effected by many things causing a wide range of readings. Hydrostatic body composition is one of the best ways to find out your % body fat. Unfortunately they are mostly found in lab settings. So my advice is don't worry too much about the analyzer numbers. In fact, I really believe that all of these measurements are very much overrated.

Now, to my point, finally! What I feel is most important as an indication of progress are two things:
1. Ask yourself how you feel? Do you feel healthier? Do you have more energy? How does the exercise make you feel? How does it compare to where you were? It's the "feely measurement" if you will!
2. The Mirror Test or Picture Test: Look at yourself and what do you see? Look for the positives! What physical changes are noticeable? Don't compare yourself to anyone else. Notice the differences!

I guess that's enough out of me! If you got this far thanks for reading.

Curves Rocks!
