-Our club just got the Oblique a week ago and a lot of our members have said that they don't feel it either.

Make sure that you keep your boobs(chest?) and your chin lined up with the handles- you should form a square with your chest, and arms and maintain that square. Many women want to use their arms or shoulders instead of their obliques to turn. Sit up VERY STRAIGHT and pretend like your spine is a rod and that your body has to rotate around it. Keep your body and head in line with the handles ALL the time. Use a very narrow range of motion (we tell our ladies 11 and 1 but 10 and 2 works just as well) Also, if you're good at talking to yourself, say "I am going to turn this bar with my waist, and only my waist" You have to concentrate pretty hard to get the right muscles to do the work, but once you get the hang of it, it's a miracle machine!

Quite often we hear that there is a tension problem in the machine or that it's adjusted wrong. The truth of the matter is that there is no way to adjust the machine and no tension involved at all. All the machines are hydraulic. The faster you move, the harder it makes it. If it feels to easy in one direction, move faster in that direction. So if you're getting lopsided, move faster in that direction and it should offer more resistance.

It sounds like some of you guys have ill-trained staff and I apologize on their behalf!

good luck.
