The body fat readers are VERY sensitive...so if you ate within 4 hours of going, had any caffeine or alcohol within 12 hours and various other reason (your monthing friend etc) can cause it to read too high. I had mine go up almost 1 full % but I had lost 4 pounds or something like that so I was really concerned. but basically, it's just very touchy and can vary greatly due to too many things I can't even remember. I would suggest asking them what their machine suggests to do in preparation for getting the reading and then ask to have it done again the next time you go in. My club has a little list of all the things that can effect it and I'm sure it's in the instruction manual of all the readers so they should have it!
