Wow! Thanks for the testimonial -- I'm so happy to hear from someone else has had the same experience! My blood pressure originally started going up shortly before I joined Curves a year and a half ago and I started Curves and started taking medication at the same time. I had a very unreasonable doctor at that time and when my blood pressure started dropping he refused to take me off medication and so I stopped taking the medication and stopped seeing him! My blood pressure remained normal so I wasn't sure if he had been raising my blood pressure or if Curves was lowering it. But when it shot back up again after not going to Curves it really scared me. I realized it was time to start exercising again & to get a new doctor. I was fully prepared to take medication, too -- but luckily my new doctor agrees with me that exercise is preferable to medication and won't just "mask" the symptoms, like you said. She did say that not everyone responds as well to exercise, but I'm wondering if Curves' combination of strength training and aerobics does something really good for your heart . . . but at any rate -- this just goes to prove that a lot of the benefits of Curves go beyond "skin deep" and whether or not you lose weight or inches!
