TIM Tim I was sent to Lackland AFB in 69 for some kind of training with heavey weopons. I beleieved it to be called Camp Bullock or something like that, been a long time (CRS) never new of any atomic acciddent there? Anyway went from there to U-Tapoa AFB Thailand in March of 69 served with the 635th Security Police Sq. Til March of 70.While at U-Tapoa I had a bunch of differant dutys there, Guard towers, runway guard, mortor pit, bunker pit, and patrol duties with, armorded personel carries, V-100s i beleive they were called, drove them all, jeeps with 50 cals on them with no ammo for them and most with m-60s with ammo. But the best job I had there was getting the Thai Guards and SP there box lunches and wrapped up Thai food for the RTG, had that job for almost 9 months before coming back to the states. Anyway heres my story of Herbisides at U-Tapoa. The perimiter of the base, and in other areas were void of any growth what so ever. I seen with my own eyes the spraying of some kind of defoliant with what looked like a tank truck with a high pressure sprayer on it, it could spray at least a 100 ft. As it did to keep a 100ft. fire zone around the perimiter of the base. This stuff was also sprayed on all the bunkers and mortor pits. anywhere there was need for a no vegetion. It was used widely all over the base. If I remember correctly it was a orange/yellow color. Also I remember the spraying for bugs at night all through out the base at night. I have just been diagnosed with type 2 dibetes in Jan 06, also have had 2 cancer operations on the skin, melignent malinoma, and carcinoma Spelling sucks. I need proof that the stuff they spayed at the base U-Tapao was indeed agent orange, any help would be appiceated.
