A time not long ago, U.S Calvery soldiers, sent letters, to newspapers, asking their loved-ones back east,to send a box, (requesting care packages), to themselves, while on the Navaho-Nation, battle-field . While they burned villages, looted, killed the old, young. In a land, far from from Spain and Europe.
It seems ironic, one, with all there senses would consider, being Native American, to even enlist to fight, alongside with these people who call themselves decent white Americans. It's a White-mans war.

"It is white mans world and war". I agree but you have to see by now that we live in thier world. What way can a native now become a warrior from a brave? Times change and somethings we have no control over. I think you should support all the troops in Iraq, they are in a new country whether they want to be or not, if they support the cause they are there for or not. Most navajos join the military so they can see the world or get money for college. Most come back to the rez, this message in its self should tell us something about our youths, they want more for themselves in life and will try to make it better...change is every where, its time to see what your eyes are showing you.

To become a warrior is to make a transition in life. One way to do that is by soldiering. Say what you want about it, no one who has served in the military, especially in a war zone, will ever tell you that their life was not changed.

But there are other ways to become a warrior in this world today, sometimes less glamorous, and sometimes requiring more strength and dedication than soldiering. It is all about making the hard choices, doing the right thing when an easier path lies open in front of you. Caring for friends and family and putting others' needs ahead of your own desires. The start is the realization that you have choices to make and that those choices affect those around you and the rest of your days. For some their path leads to the military. For others it leads elsewhere.

Whether you agree with this war or not, honor those who serve in the long tradition of people who have fought and died for the potential freedoms we all have in a country that has from time to time been governed evil men who tried to take everything, but which has still set an example of personal liberty for other nations the world over to follow.

> We as a people always had a tradition to be warriors, to prove to yourself you can do it. Also believe in the traditions of our ancestors who suffered a great deal to survive. And if it was not for thier courage, we as natives would not be here. So in reponse to your comment, I think it is just in the blood to full a warriors' duty or in the genes
