"It is white mans world and war". I agree but you have to see by now that we live in thier world. What way can a native now become a warrior from a brave? Times change and somethings we have no control over. I think you should support all the troops in Iraq, they are in a new country whether they want to be or not, if they support the cause they are there for or not. Most navajos join the military so they can see the world or get money for college. Most come back to the rez, this message in its self should tell us something about our youths, they want more for themselves in life and will try to make it better...change is every where, its time to see what your eyes are showing you.

To become a warrior is to make a transition in life. One way to do that is by soldiering. Say what you want about it, no one who has served in the military, especially in a war zone, will ever tell you that their life was not changed.
But there are other ways to become a warrior in this world today, sometimes less glamorous, and sometimes requiring more strength and dedication than soldiering. It is all about making the hard choices, doing the right thing when an easier path lies open in front of you. Caring for friends and family and putting others' needs ahead of your own desires. The start is the realization that you have choices to make and that those choices affect those around you and the rest of your days. For some their path leads to the military. For others it leads elsewhere.
Whether you agree with this war or not, honor those who serve in the long tradition of people who have fought and died for the potential freedoms we all have in a country that has from time to time been governed evil men who tried to take everything, but which has still set an example of personal liberty for other nations the world over to follow.
