My Older Brother used to see a guy when we were very young. It turned out, that a young lad had died in an accident who previously occupied the house we lived in.

It happened almost daily, and my brother was the only one who could see him. "Get out of my house" the ghost said to my brother apparently.

My mother obviously had to deal with the screaming and crying, and shouted out loud "Its not your house anymore..we live here now!!!". After that, it subsided but the house remained in family hands for some years to come and the room always had an eerie feel to it. Maybe try gettin mad with the ghost.
