The comment made by that surveryor was made 14 years ago when we bought our first yacht.

At the time I think what he said was pretty much the case based on the boat building methods used on fibreglass boats 20 years ago.

Both the building and the treatment of fibreglass boats has come a long way since then, but that isn't a lot of help to people trading in older secondhand boats.
