I have circuit breakers and don't know what/where the fuses are on the boat, so difficult to tell the loading on the light circuit...

I'm looking at buying a multimeter to use for some fault diagnostics -- my main saloon light is driving me nuts, and the brand new replacement isn't working, but I can't see what would could be broken! It's one of those simple silver rotating lights.

The question is... Can I use a multimeter to read the voltage across the connections if it's maximum amp rating is 10A?
