I have a Trapper 300 with a YSB8 Last 3 times I have been out the engine has started fine and water has been coming out of the exhaust (I always check) I have been sailing then restarted the engine and very little or no water has come out of the exhaust. 1st time I pulled off the feed to the pump to check there was no blockage at the hull inlet, water poured in I assumed it wasn't that. drive belt is tight. I restarted the engine and the water started flowing again. Next time I sailed all the way into the marina using the engine only for the last 100yards at tickover. I stopped the engine 20 mins later restarted and water flowed fine. Today started fine again in Marina. after 3 hours sailing, same thing, restarted and no water. I sailed the boat onto a port tack thus putting the inlet deeper in the water, then water started flowing. Has anyone experienced similar problems could it be some sort of air lock? The impeller was changed 2 months ago. I examined it today and it is fine.
Any suggestions appreciated
