Nick,

The folding prop on the Superseal I have just bought dosn't.

On examination the gears are stiff with a lime-like deposit which is clearly the result of marine animal growth. There are some remains not ground up by the prop, the sort that makes wiggly patterns on stones.
It is conceivable that this could grow on the shaft and interfere with the cutless bearing.

Possible explanation?
