The tensioner makes a lot of difference to performance helping us to point about 5 degrees closer and with a lot less lee helm.
As far as sail cloth is conserned my sails are all made of heavish cruising cloth as I only tend to cruise, but to well against other boats in a friendly race.
The safety factor with an inexperienced crew is the main reason for roller reefing. I can use mine as a twin tracked head foil but never do. Well not for the last 15 years.
