Henry and Mary
I am slightly puzzled as to why you wish to change your mainsail system to slugs.
On my TS 240 I can hoist my main in one minute flat. When singlehanding I keep both reefs in. I would guess not much more time for full main with a crew.
A friend has the slug system and it is painfully slow.
Even my 130% genoa also goes up in a minute single handed, I do have a cleat on the mast to help.
I try to obtain a weather check and choose the correct sail combination. I admit it can be a pain to change the foresail if left too long in adverse weather.
