Subject: Trapper TS240 Keel

I have recently bought an early Trapper TS240, hull number 007.

I have read the article in PBO about replacing the mild steel box on top of the keel, but this article doesn't really show enough detail for me. Does anyone have any experience of accessing the box? Mine appears to have plenty of metal still there, but I would like to be able to inspect it a bit more thoroughly. It is very rusty in places from what I can see, but there is still about a 1/4 inch of steel there. Are there any drawings in existance of the set up?

I guess these have been changed on a few Trappers by now, it seems to be a slightly weak design by using mild steel in this environment.

Any help would be appreciated!

Giles
