I think if i remember rightly from some blurb that I read on the back of the forms when I registerd OPTICA for the first time under my ownership,.that they where warning that they would start to re-use old numbers at the begining of 2005 due to the fact there running out of the current allocations.and are activly asking new owners to try and find out if the boat had in its past, an SSR number so they can re-activate it.
I can-not swear that it was on the forms or on the web site where I down loaded my form for registration
It should mean that you should keep your original number.
