Yes, that was just letting go to let the boat have its own way.

At 2000rpm I measured 8lbs to keep the rudder straight.
(at 18" from rudder pivot axis)

Once the rudder has gone hard to port it takes about 20 lbs to get it back to straight ahead.

These loads would all be well within the capability of a Simrad TP 10.

I do find that the boat will go hard to port too quickly for the times that I have to reach for fenders, warps etc.

However, as a result of these trials, I think that knocking it out of gear with give enough time to put out fenders etc.without too much deviation from straight ahead.

Fitting the Tiller Tamer? Let you know next week when I have done it.
