I am not an expert on the set up as I have had OPTICA on the water since last August. I had to remove the mast and replace all rigging as last lot was 4mm on starboard and 5mm on port side?? and of some quite considerable age. I went for 5mm all round which I think is on the heavy side but I feel a bit more confident. I have been playing around with my mast rake and so far she seems to go best with 6-8 inches max. more than that I found that the helm became a bit "lifeless" until she started to heel then the weather helm came on in bucket fulls. ok she pointed high but slow. to little rake and yes quicker but sailed lower. I think I have it about right. as far as tension goes. I have it that with my number 2 genny and full main, the leward cap shroud should by just starting to go slack. she is quite hard pressed by this point and for normal sailing with the family is way more than people are happy with as the beer keeps getting spilt. As far as pre-bend goes I have had exactly the same questions as you ( see August last year in the archives) and I contacted the sailmaker. different people cut with different pre-bend allowance so I can only suggest you try them first.I cant help on the roto stay as I have old fashioned hanks
Hope this is of use to you.
Kim
