Brian, interesting that you had to 'de-sensitise' your tiller response by moving the mounting forward. I am now coming to the conclusion that mine is too far forward, more than the "critical" 460mm that Autohelm stipulate and I find that correction is too little under sail when course changes are much quicker than under power, when it works perfectly. You write that the T28 is "responsive" - probably as much so as the T500 - which is not the best for single handed cruising, in my opinion.

Thanks for confirming that the mounting distance is not so "critical" after all.
