Dear Rev. Sanderson,

I hope this email is current. My name is Scott Stevenson and I live in Redmond, Washington USA and I have been searching the web in hopes of finding some information that you might have based on your relationship to the Roscoe family. My interest is with the Baron and Phyllis.

I understand that they did not have children. The reason why I am writing you is to try to find as much of their history as it relates to a vehicle that they owned.

My father purchased a 1936 Cadillac Convertible from the solicitor of the estate of Stackelberg in 1967; his passion for antique cars took him all the way to Inverness and Ullapool, Scotland (we lived in England at the time.) We still have the car in the family and it is one my father’s treasured possessions. He has some information including letters from the solicitor who was hired in 1949. According to the solicitor (Ian ??) Phyllis came from a wealthy textile family, she was educated in France where she met the Colonel; he had escaped in 1917 during the Russian revolution with some friends. They purchased the Castle Erchless in Struy, Beauly near Inverness and tried to raise cows.

I am attempting to piece together the history of the Cadillac while it was in their possession: Where it was purchased, where was it during the War, etc. It appears that they were in Rowlands Court, Lingfield according to you. It is a unique model because of the right-hand drive for the British Isles and its model (convertible V-8). My father thinks that it may have been the only one of that style produced.
