Help! I just acquired a trotter class with a swing/drop keel. It appears that the winch mechanism used to raise or lower the keel is not original. In fact, it is broken. I would appreciate immensely if someone with a swing/drop keel could provide me with some pictures or a description on how this mechanism is used to raise or lower the keel. Could the original boat have used block and tackle? Mine has a solid metal post coming through the floor in the coach ceiling with a (broken) winch attached.
