Subject: hyst,for Misty

Hello Misty, I had a abd hyst 5 years ago,it was painful in the hospital but well controlled by pain meds. The worst I felt was from a hemoglobin of 8 on discharge. I was 43 and had a husband and a 10 and 12 year old at home.I love clean things so i wanted to do light housework,That frustrated me as I was to tired to do anything.Meals were brought to me the first 4 days and my family had to pitch in.I worked out at the gym 5 days a week so i was in good shape.I had a laporatomy 6 weeks ago for a ovary that was stuck to the colon and a tube the size of a sausage, they removed both, that put me in surgical menopause.I had 13 staples a hemoglobin of 8 again and I was in the hospital for 5 days with that surgery.I did not need pain meds when i got home but was SO EXAUSTED I could not do any housework. My family again pitched in, and I finally felt like i could do something 2 weeks post op.I was back at the gym 4 weeks post op with walking 2 miles. The house work will always be there but GO LAY DOWN on the couch as much as possible.I would wash dishes and then go to the couch.Just take your time to recover that is the best advice! Good luck , Vickie
