Subject: Waited it out

I started heavy bleeding due to fibroids 3 years ago at age 49. I was advised by multiple docs to have a salpingo bi lateral hysterectomy.

I did not want my ovaries removed. I did not want to go on hrt.

No one gave me a satisfactory answer about ovary removal. Seemed like it was medical custom rather than medical science.

I last had a period 6 months ago. Six months to go before I can say I'm in memopause officially. Even with hot flashes and night sweats, I'm feeling so much better. I'm glad I toughed it out!
