a new Canon PowerShot S3 IS to be exact! and so far I am liking this camera (much happier with it than that grainy fuji)...even thought I haven't actually shot the Billy's with it yet...but I think they should be afraid...very afraid!! lol

I happened to be in the store the other day when a Fuji representative was there. I told her all about my issues with he Fuji 5200 and she said I wasn't alone and that she would be sure to let the company know. I'm changing the world ya'll...one camera at a time!! :D

The halloween decor is gone. The Christmas things are creeping into the outer areas of the resort slowly... one by one. This year's Christmas tree [sans gold] is waiting backstage just off the tram route. The Horseshoe is decked out in it's usual Christmas finery.

Yes, its that time of year again.....
Shareholder Value Season
....The time of year when Disney packs the rafters to fill the park with as many people as it can hold and make its shareholder's stockings fill with glee [or money].

Joey Lawrence [of Dancing With The Stars] danced today in front of the castle with his lovely partner, in an outfit that would have made DA remove every single lovely ladies' photo off of Area 51 and use her as wallpaper.... Stunning and very AQUA!

The Walton Kid was playing with the pirate band over in New Orleans... nice guy... lovely singing voice. They tried to shoot down the ship I was on, but we prevailed. No Captain Jack to be found anywhere, so very little drooling occured.

The Miners were in fine tune over at DCA and seemed to be enjoying themselves. Jed {Danny} outdid himself with the kids today.... more dancing and singing than I've ever seen in Grizzley Peak fer quite a spell.

Billy Hill was playing to slightly less crowded rooms later in the day, but putting on a great show, just the same. Enjoyed visiting with Hillary and her brother... two very nice people.... had lunch at Village Haus with my lovely daughter, Sarah and rode my favorite ride with my three beautiful grandsons, Garrison, Gage and Gavin.

COME ON EVERYBODY, LET'S GO!

I got a new Fuji FinePix S 5200. It looks nice and feels nice in my hand and has 10x zoom (for those up the nostril close ups)but I've noticed the pictures appear grainy no matter what setting I use. (big time run on sentence..I'm bad about that...please excuse me)This camera brags about the crisp clear quality but all I see is grit! Anyone else have one of these or know what I might be doing wrong? I wonder if I just got a dud.

Also while we're at it...what kind of camera do you have?

If your party includes anyone who has difficulty with walking, standing for long periods, or boarding the tram, you might want to try dropping off and meeting the disabled guest at the Grand Californian. We did this for my Mom on Friday and the staff at the Grand Californian was very accommodating. Because she did not have to expend her energy on the trip from the M&F parking lot, my Mom wasn't tired when she entered the parks and was able to enjoy all the shows.

This is the route we used:

Enter Disneyland Drive from either Ball or Katella. Drive to the intersection that leads to the Grand Californian's driveway. Tell the staffmember at the Grand Californian's kiosk that you are dropping off (or picking up at the end of your visit) a member of your party and the staffmember will give you a slip of paper that permits you to take your car to the lobby entrance. Then the disabled person only needs to walk through the hotel either to enter D'land through Downtown Disney or to enter DCA through the hotel's breezeway (leaving one near the alcove where the Miner 49ers play). The driver can then park the car at the M&F lot, take the tram and meet the rest of the party at any prearranged place. Reverse this path at the end of the evening, with the driver taking the tram, getting the car from the M&F lot and meeting the rest of the party at the Grand Californian's lobby entrance.

Tom and I were in the Daisy parking lot last night (per medical instructions yesterday I'm supposed to walk 30 minutes a day, so where better?) when we saw all four Billys apparently on their separate ways home. They were gracious enough to say "hi" and congratulate me on being without my chair. We were only sorry that we couldn't get to the park early enough to see them perform.

I did manage to walk all the way to the Ranch, then Haunted Mansion, then out again. Unfortunately, it hurt to much to do that daily; and it's back to the doctor's this afternoon for a different problem.

So.... Whatever happened to the QUIET days of Fall?

The last two Mondays at the park have been insane. Last Monday, it was so crowded, they shut off the signal lights on Ball at Harbor, the employee entrance and Disneyland Drive. Police were directing traffic instead. It took me 25 minutes just to be in the parking line. It took over 2 hours for a friend of mine to get from the freeway offramp at Harbor to the Main gate. It was so crowded, you couldn't move down Main Street at all. Getting a table for the Billy show was almost impossible. It was apparently a teacher inservice day for many Southern California schools, as well as the thousands of "free" tickets Disney mailed as a promotion to area residents [non passholder residents, of course.]

Yesterday [Columbus Day] was almost as bad. At 11:30 am, they had us parking on Donald with ALL the lots below us completely filled....and this was a MONDAY! The entire population of Washington state and Oregon was there. Having the Halloween decor up, as well as the "Year of a Million Dreams" promo is also making an impact.

I'm glad to see the Disneyland Resort and the Billy show are doing so well, but a small part of me still longs for those quiet crisp fall days with small crowds when you could just stroll into the park in 15 minutes and walk right onto any attraction. That would be my "dream of the year."

I know they got a new sound system...added ice cream to the menu (YUM) and fixed the counter so it's now handicap accessable...so I guess I'm wondering why this took them nearly a month?? Hello! My name is Tracy and I am a Billy fan(atic). In a quest to find all things Billy I found ya'll. My husband Stephen is my enabler and our children (Zachary 13 and Wyatt 11)can barely stand us at this point...although little do they know the 'Billy' seeds have already been planted.

My family and I are in the park a few times a month and usually attend the first Billy show...from what I'm told we're the best audience of the day! ;)

I'm a little shy meeting folks for the first few times...but that quickly fades. I'm beginning to recognize some of the regulars and I may just get the courage to walk up and say "Hi" but if I don't I'm sure you'll start to recognize me so feel free to break the ice for me! :D

I've met a few fellow Billy fans in person through the Billy's myspace page. It's kinda like finding long lost relatives! I have a 'space if ya wanna check it out...

For their last porch shows before the Horseshoe re-opens on Friday, the Billys brought out 7 brothers. The gold team (Dennis, John M. (playing 1st fiddle), Kirk, Duane) were joined by new(ish) members Jonny Ray Bartel on bass, Mark (who also plays Clem and mayor in Laughingstock) on guitar, and John (from the Miner 49ers) on banjo.
Duane showed the crowd his trick fiddling, playing "Pop goes the weasel" in ways no one else can. John M. and Duane doubled the parts and played counterpoint on the fiddles. John (49er) rose to the challenge of playing "Orange blossom special" on banjo. Dennis and Kirk exchanged the mandolin and guitar at one point. Kirk even found himself in a hoedown with 4 enthusiastic young dancers.
Character is revealed more by what we do under difficult circumstances than by what we do when everything runs smoothly and those who turn problems into opportunities are the most notable. Over the past 10 days, even without a proper stage or sound equipment, the Billys showed both Disney management and guests why so many people admire the Billy Hill style.

Well, it's not exactly Billy-related; but, it's Billy-friends-related. My next show is coming up soon � it opens next weekend. I�m in �Brigadoon,� as Archie Beaton, one of the townspeople.

Brigadoon is a town in Scotland that, through an act of God, appears only one day every 100 years. Two Americans, who are on vacation, just happen to come across the town the day it appears this century. Tommy, an unhappy New Yorker, falls in love with Fiona, a Scottish lass; and, has to choose between his life, his job, and his fianc�e in New York, or giving it all up to stay with Fiona forever. I play Archie, a merchant in town, whose son causes a lot of trouble in act II. The show includes many terrific songs, including �Almost like being in Love,� �The Heather on the Hill,� and �Come to Me, Bend to Me.�

The show runs Friday and Saturday nights at 8pm and Sunday afternoons at 2pm, from October 6 � 22. The theatre is located at Main Street and Santa Ana Blvd, in Santa Ana. You can take the 5 freeway, get off at Main Street and go south a couple of miles; or, get off at Santa Ana Blvd and go west a couple of miles. Tickets can be purchased at 714-547-1872, or at alicestau@sbcglobal.net; or, you can buy them at the door. You can go to www.mspshows.com for more info. It might be worth it, if for no other reason than to laugh at me in a kilt.

With the Horseshoe closed for repair, the Billys are graciously performing on the less than ideal porch in front of the Frontierland store. The performances are acoustic because the porch is not wired for sound and the usual entrance to Frontierland is closed for repair, so there is a constant flow of people cutting around the corner from Adventureland, right in front of the Billys.
Nevertheless, this group of professionals put together 3 great sets today. They deserve much better than D'land is providing and, if you are able to make the trip, the presence of friendly faces may make this experience more fun for the guys. Disney's website lists performances daily at 3, 4 & 5 pm, but this is not set in stone, so try not to be too disappointed if some sets are skipped as circumstances dictate.
Hope to see you there letting the Billys (and Disney management) know how much we appreciate this unique band of brothers.

NEWS FLASH!!!

Dana Daniels will appearing on channel 5 news in Los Angeles tomorrow morning September 13th. 2006 It will be a live feed from the Magic Castle in Hollywood
and also feature Jason Alexander from Seinfeld and renowned illusionist Jonathan Pendragon.

Reporter Gayle Anderson will be doing two to three live spots that morning promoting the 50th. anniversary of the It's Magic Show.

For anyone new or who doesn't remember Dana... he was the host of The Golden Horseshoe Variety Show for many years at Disneyland. I miss both him and Luigi, the parrot.
