SCOTT GATES & Pacific Ocean Bluegrass ...California born and raised, the Pacific Ocean Bluegrass six come together to bring to you a young and spirited rendition of bluegrass traditionals and originals. From eight year old vocalist, banjo and mandolin player Aissa Lee singing "Oh, Mandolin" with a voice that could make angels cry, and 13 year old phenom Scott Gates on mando-family instruments, to 16 year old banjo great Victor Skidanenko. They have secured member Julian Conn Busch, 13, backing up the band on bass, flatpicking guitarist Paul Davis and California Bluegrass Association's teen ambassador, Angelica Grim with her hard driving rhythm guitar, bass and vocals plus Long Beach pre-teen award winning fiddler Katie Nakamura who sums up this band as the next best thing to Nickel Creek!
Last year, on July 30, Scott Gates guested with Coffee Gallery's staple band SMOKEWOOD on his 13th Birthday -- This year he brings his own band,
Pacific Ocean Bluegrass, to celebrate his 14th Birthday on the same Stage -- Come CELEBRATE with us!!

Hope some more of you can come out, the first show is close to a sell out and the second show is filling...thanks so much for your support of our Bluegrass Kids. These kids have literally grown up on Bluegrass and for Scott, it is going full circle. There may be a Billy sighting there, so come on out for a fun night in a great little venue... and say happy birthday to Scott by giving him the present of you coming!
