.....that ISP address is a default AOL address for all AOL users. To block that address would cause all AOL users to be blocked.

... we had problems with people trying to troll, spam, and just plain make trouble and shut down the server. Anyway, we were able to ban ISPs, but ran into problems with people from AOL. If you ban one AOL ISP, you ban them all because they're all the same. So if we banned the AOL troll, we also banned our regular AOL posters. (The good ones.) It was quite a problem. Anyway, I'm sure the trolls aren't anyone we know as friends (at least I hope not).
