August 24, 2008 - In its 9th year, the Elvis Fest and Endless Summer Karaoke Contest returns on Sunday, August 24 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will feature a full day of tributes and music in honor of the “king of rock and roll, “Elvis Presley.” The event, which is held near the anniversary of Presley’s death, August 16, 1977, will mark the 31st year since the “king” died. Elvis tribute artists perform all day and the Endless Summer Karaoke Contest will have contestants singing and moving like Elvis to vie for a spot in the finals of Karaoke Fest in September at the Los Angeles County Fair. The Jailhouse Rockers of California, a charity that raises funds for the Elvis Presley Memorial Trauma Center in Memphis, TN , will participate with various activities.
