better late than never? It sounds to me like a contact allergy on his belly and legs. This more than likely is an allergy to something he is lying/sleeping on...possibly even acrylic carpet (?). Try bathing him with Nizoral or a fungicidal shampoo, this should get rid of the smell. & please let us know how he's going, what works and what doesn't.
