That's really inconsiderate. Being on methadone is NOT at all like being addicted to heroin. Yes there is still withdrawal sickness if you quit cold turkey, but at the correct dose methadone does NOT make you at all "high", it simply keeps you from being dopesick. It enables you to live a normal life, you are not injecting illegal drugs into your veins, it isn't costing you hundreds of dollars a day & ruining your life etc. What right or experience do you have to insult people who are on methadone & say it's the same as using? I applaud anyone who is able to stop using whether it be by taking methadone or any other prescription. It is STILL VERY hard to quit & takes a lot of effort & courage even if you are on methadone. Are you just trying to bring people down? I would rather be on methadone for the rest of my life than go back to being addicted to heroin.
