Wow, you said it. I went out with a heroin addict for 2 years and it was hell. The times where he was sober, were the most blissful though. When I first met him it took me a while to figure it out. But when I did, I was sooo curious about why he did heroin and what it was all about that I stuck around to figure it out. I stuck around also because I really thought he would quit using. After he went to rehab, the first time, he made me feel like I was in a fairy tale and that he would never go back. When he did, I took all the blame and eventually stopped talking to him for a few months. During those few months, he was in rehab getting better and the fairy tale began again. He would swear that he would never go back to heroin and that he wanted a life with me, but it only took him 3 months to go back to lying and stealing and using. He really is a good person, but the addict took over and changed his behavior completely. It is a serious drug that ruins lives.
