My impression is definitely that the "twins attacked me" wasn't true. Lola would likely not have been so upset if it was just her little brothers that physically hurt her. And then at dinner Paul Marshall chimed in about his own "battle wounds" that he claims he received trying to break up the fight between Lola and the boys. He and Lola were probably fooling around, he got too rough, she fought back and they both had a few marks and "Indian burns". Just my impressions...
