I enjoyed Saturday (as I do all McEwan's books).

His thoughts, concerns, conflicts with others in the story -no matter how selfish they might be, depict a true account of how a human being thinks. That's refreshing.

I find in all his books that he doesn't rush into the guts of the story - the first half is always slow - and I like it slow. I like to get the feel of a character and what's going on with him - this author does that for me.
